Volunteer at Title IX Sprint

In two weeks, on Sunday September 12th TE will be sponsoring and volunteering at the Max Performance Title IX Women’s Sprint Tri in Hopkinton, MA.

Volunteers must arrive at 7 am to help with body marking and then course water stations. Please remember to wear your TE gear.

Bike Clinic and BRUNCH!

On Sept 19th at 9 am Nadine and Kristi will be hosting a Bike Clinic at the Arnold Arboretum in JP. This space will allow us to practice some bike skills and chat. There is plenty of parking at the Arb and it is T accessible or you can ride there!

What to expect:
I. Discussion of various topics, to include but not limited to:

- clipping and unclipping
- ways to get on your bike and out of transition
- hill riding (in and out of saddle/up and down)
- aero bar riding
- bike training strategies
- non-drafting rules
- mastering your race bike (hairpin turns, looking back, drinking & eating on the bike…)
- basic maintenance discussion

II. Practicing some of the above skills in a safe-non-traffic environment

III. Going for a short ride (10-15 miles).

IV. BRUNCH in Jamaica Plain. Folks can leave there bikes at my place in JP during brunch if you should desire.

What to bring: bicycle, riding shoes if you have them, HELMETS a MUST, a positive and fun attitude.

An intrepid group of TE members braved the waves at Nantasket on Saturday, July 31st. Swimming in the ocean may leave a salty taste in your mouth, but it sure helps build confidence in open water! The last team swim of the season is Thursday, August 19, at Walden Pond.

I wanted to remind the team of a few upcoming Volunteer Opportunities with TE! It is highly encouraged that all active members volunteer at least one event during the season.

Volunteering involves the following: tent set up, wearing your TE t-shirt, cheering on your fellow teammates, being an ambassador for the team and having a Great time!
