On Sept 19th at 9 am Nadine and Kristi will be hosting a Bike Clinic at the Arnold Arboretum in JP. This space will allow us to practice some bike skills and chat. There is plenty of parking at the Arb and it is T accessible or you can ride there!
What to expect:
I. Discussion of various topics, to include but not limited to:
– clipping and unclipping
– ways to get on your bike and out of transition
– hill riding (in and out of saddle/up and down)
– aero bar riding
– bike training strategies
– non-drafting rules
– mastering your race bike (hairpin turns, looking back, drinking & eating on the bike…)
– basic maintenance discussion
II. Practicing some of the above skills in a safe-non-traffic environment
III. Going for a short ride (10-15 miles).
IV. BRUNCH in Jamaica Plain. Folks can leave there bikes at my place in JP during brunch if you should desire.
What to bring: bicycle, riding shoes if you have them, HELMETS a MUST, a positive and fun attitude.
