Escape the Cape!

The second Max Performance race of the season, Escape the Cape, was on May 31 in beautiful Onset, MA. TE had 7 individual racers and two relay teams participating. The air temps were perfect for racing, but lest it seem too easy– the water temperature was a crisp 63 and the wind picked up right before the start putting some chop on the water. But, after that challenging start, the bike and run courses were beautiful, and as always Max Performance put on a well supported, solid race. We’re always happy to see Megan Gurley running transition like a tight ship too! Podium spots included #1 female relay by Cathy and Becky and #1 in age group by Carole, and Trinity nabbed a solid 4th place age group finish. We also welcomed Heidi for her first race with TE.

Then for the second year in a row, we rented a cute vacation house for the weekend and chilled out on the beach, BBQing, and playing with a room full of recovery tools. Sunday was a glorious sunny day and everyone headed out for a morning bike ride before heading back up to the city to look forward to training weekend on June 6-8 and  the next race….tons of them coming up in June and then of course the next installment of the Race Series-Mass State on July 13th!

Here are a few pics from the day:
